Where Himalayan Soul Meets Modern Craft
Born from a deep love of Nepalese culture and the art of slow food, 818 Lumu opened its doors in the heart of Thamel in 2012. We set out to create a space where traditional Nepalese flavors could coexist with the warmth of a modern specialty cafe.
Our kitchen follows the rhythms of the seasons and the highlands — every ingredient is handpicked, every recipe passed down through generations. We believe food is a bridge between cultures, and every bite at 818 Lumu is an invitation to understand Nepal a little more deeply.
Crafted with Soul, Served with Heart
Food is the thread that connects us to our roots — one meal at a time.
The Craft
Single-origin beans grown at altitude, slow-roasted in-house for exceptional depth of flavour.
The Ambiance
Warm amber lighting, wooden accents, the scent of spices — a refuge from the world.
The Flavour
Recipes passed down through generations, faithfully recreated with modern precision.
